Ankur: Fighting Child Malnutrition
Launched on 1st April 2017, Project Ankur targets malnourished children in rural and urban communities. With the support of the Community Health Center, Mahewa (Etawah), and the leadership of Dr. Yatendra Rajput, this program has rescued over 1800 malnourished children. The Power of Re-Use: Clothing Donation Drive
Through this flagship initiative, Pehchaan encourages individuals and families to donate their old clothes to those in need. Changing seasons are particularly harsh on impoverished communities, and a simple act of donating clothes can provide warmth and comfort to countless children and adults. The NGO collects summer and winter clothing year-round, and distributes them during seasonal donation drives across Ghaziabad and Etawah. This not only promotes reuse but also cultivates a culture of empathy and giving.
Gyan Jyoti: Lighting the Lamp of Education
Gyan Jyoti is Pehchaan NGO’s education-centric initiative operating in Noida and Ghaziabad, specifically targeting begging and slum-dwelling children. The program offers basic education along with life-skills awareness, rights education, and personality development. Additionally, vocational training is provided to teenagers, equipping them with practical skills such as tailoring, computer literacy, and handicrafts—skills that can help them become financially independent and socially aware citizens.
The organisation has been accorded 12A status under the Income Tax Act.
